Question

Pocketwatch2
I have a watch that I was told belonged to my G-Grandfather.  Can you tell me anything about it from the attached pictures?

Thank you, Tom

Answer
Tom,

Hamilton made top quality watches.  This one has 21 jewels.  The jewels act as bearings so the watch movement does not have metal rubbing against metal in high friction areas.

In properly maintained condition, this watch would still be useful as a timekeeper today.

It was made in 1906.

Congratulation, Tom.  You have a wonderful timepiece and family heirloom.

Kind regards,

Melvin
