QuestionHello
Just a quick question on a Selby Westminster chime clock. The long tune bar on the set of (5) has broken off the end of the screw retainer that holds the bar in the cast base. Do you know how the end is secured to this screw? and can this be repaired?
Thank You
Stay Well
AnswerThe best way to resolve this problem is to purchase a new set of chime rods. Trying to tune a single new chime rod is very difficult and certainly not cost effective. On the www go to <www.merritts.com> this will take you into the on-line catalog of Merritt's Antiques, one of the very few clock materials houses that sell to the public as well as to the trade. If for somee reason you can't find what you seek call Merritt's via their 800 number and talk to one of their reps. Regards WJP
