Clocks, Watches/gold watch

Question
Hi Melvin,
I have a pocket watch that appears to be solid gold. Inside the case it says C.W.C. Co. and has  a trade mark with a star and crescent moon between the words "trade" and "mark".  It has a serial # of 1563111.  I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thank you,

Sue

Answer
Sue,

There should be some marking to determine if the case is solid gold.  If there are no indicators for gold content, then it is not likely to be solid gold.

Only 5% of cases were solid gold statistically it is not likely to be gold.

Kind regards,

Melvin
