Question
Hi, i hope you can help.
I have a Hermle Quartx 2114 mechanism in my grandmother clock which works and chimes on the quarter hour and hour. However the clock actually chimes at the wrong time e.g. at 2.40 it will chime for 4 o'clock.
Is there anyway i can adjust the mechanism?
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Regards
Viv

Answer
Hi Viv,
Here is the way you reset that movement:
Hold the setting knob in the back so it will not turn. Move the minute hand forward by 20 minutes. Let the clock run and see what hour it strikes. Move the hour hand to the hour that the clock struck.
It it is chiming before or after the top of the hour. Hold the setter and move the minute hand in the direction it need to go for correction purposes.
Let me know if you still have problems.
