Question
Helo,

I have Wadsworth ladies pocket watch.  It works like a charm.  I would like to get any and all information possible about this watch.  I am amateur watch collector and my knowledge is limited.  I have the following information:

Wadsworth Pilot ladies pocket watch.
Serial number: 2680424
15 jewels
afrs
3 adj.
m.e.rossel swiss

following are letters scribbled by hand:
r4938
1621

I would appreciate any light shed on history, rarity, value  and anything else of this watch.  I love american history and antiques that were made here.  My wife is specialist of many years in american silver, I want to learn about the watches.

Also for many years I have  jeager le coultre wrist watch.  I tried to research it but nothing comes up.  If anyone knows good source I could tap I will appreciate it.

If you need photos of the watches please let me know and I will send them ASAP. I can open the Wadsworth case but not the other one.

Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely,

Janusz

Answer
Janusz,

Czy Pan jest Polakiem?  Moja zona jest z Elku, Polska.

Okay. Back to English.

The Wadsworth watch I don't have any information on because the movement was made in Switzerland. I can tell you what the letter scribbled by hand are all about though. Those are notations made by watchmakers. When a watchmaker would fix a watch, he would use shorthand to make notes. Then, if he worked on the watch again, he could use the notes to tell what he did the last time.  Every watchmaker has his own shorthand so no one knows what is notations mean now.

I LOVE Jaeger LeCoultre watches. That is my favorite watch brand. There is a wealth of information on the Internet regarding this company. Of course, there is the company's own website,

www.JaegerLeCoultre.com

There are discussion boards for Jaeger LeCoultre as well.

www.timezone.com

You can register for free if you want to post questions and you do not need to register if you only want to read post from others.

I have a blog for Jaeger LeCoultre

If it is not too much trouble, please send me a picture of your Jaeger LeCoultre watch.
You can send it to millswatchrepair@gmail.com

Tell me about your watch. Why did you purchase a Jaeger LeCoultre? What model do you have?

If you have any specific questions that you would like to know about this company, please ask.

Do you live on the East Coast? This upcoming weekend is the national watch collectors convention in York, Pennsylvania. If you like watches, you might want to stop by and take a look.

Kind regards,

Melvin
