Question
Hello, my dad recently passed away and i have his grandfather clock. I was trying to find some information in regards to this as approx value etc because i need to have someone come out and set it etc and i dont want to put a lot of money into it if its not worth much. the information i got off the back of the mechanism area is 76 Franz Hermle 651-050 NO O jewels UNJJUSTE and made in west germany then it says 94 cm/55.00...thank you for any information you may have.

Answer
made in 1976 - the quality of the case determines the value
the movement is a Hermle 451-050 94 cm    not a 651

if it had no rebuilding in it's life it is probably needing overhaul or better still a new movement put in--they last 20-25 years but no more before major work.

new movemnts are about $220--see below

you might consider putting the movement in yourself.

here is generic set up--try the clock to see if it works
