Question
Can you please help me date a Benedict Bros. cased pocket watch, Stamped 14KT case #13007,with a AWW,co Riverside movement, 19 Jewels #7363069. Can you also tell me if this piece is of any special significance for collectors.

Answer
Paula,

This dates to 1895.  It is what is referred to as a private label watch.  That means that a store, in this case Benedict Bros., contracted with Waltham Watch Co., to make a watch and put the store's name on the dial.  That was a very common practice.

I have never heard of anyone collecting Benedict Bros. but that does not mean there is not one person out there that does.  There is a market for just about anything, isn't there?

If you use ebay or craigslist (or a similar site), you will probably find someone who wants to buy it.

Kind regards,

Melvin
