Question

Howard Miller Wall Clo
Hi,

The hands on my Howard Miller wall clock stopped moving after I recently replaced the two double AA batteries. The strange thing is the pendulum is still working. Where do I find a replacement for the Quartz movement? I have found some parts at www.empireclock.com but I'm not sure what to buy. The case on the back is black plastic with the following dimensions: 5 x 2 1/4 x 1

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Doug, I'll be happy to help you but I need some more information on the clock and movement. If it has two batteries it may actually have two movements: One for the time and one for the pendulum. Sometimes the time movement fits inside a pendulum case. Here are a few things I need to know to specify a movement for you.
Can you provide a photo of the back showing the clock movement(s)?
Is the minute hand held on with a small nut or does it press on?
How long is the minute hand from the center of the clock face to the tip?
How thick is the material that the movement hand shaft has to go through?
