Question

Waltham Pocket Watch w
Hi Melvin,

I have a Waltham pocket watch in a Wadsworth case that is marked W.W.C.CO. and below that is 14K in an oblong circle followed below that with the word WARRANTED.  These markings are on the movement cover case.  I have not seen this combination of markings in any collectors book and am being questioned whether the watch is gold filled or 14K gold.  I've attached a picture for your to review and would appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Answer
Scott,

Look in the book, "The Complete Price Guide to Watches", by Cooksey Shugart.

If you see this marking, then it is legitimate.

If you are still skeptical, you can take the watch to a jeweler and they can do a test for you.

It looks legit to me (from the picture, at least).

Kind regards,

Melvin
