Question

clock
Dear Mr Saunders. I'm 21 years old and i'm french. I'm writting to you for my father because he doens't use internet a lot ... Recently, someone gave him a LSF clock (as you could see on the picture). I've looked for informations on Internet for this clok and I found this web site and your contact. That's why i'm writting to you.
The Clok is very good but unfortunately, we haven't the key to open the door. My dad would want to know if we coçuld again find a key ? Or if he have to do in a another way. What's more, do you know how old is it ? Do you know if we could find a place where we could fix it if we have to ? (in german ?). I can send you others pictures of the clok if you want.
Thank you very much for your future answer.

start with a locksmith?
Does not appear to have any works in the case??

you can try opening it with a piece of stiff wire with a 1/4" right angle bend in the end of the wire.

the clock making family of Lorenz Furtwangler & Sons is said to have begun making clocks in 1836 and stopped business in 1929. This according to Kochmann.

Uhrenfabrik vorm. L. Furtwängler & Söhne
Founded 1836 by Lorenz. His sons Theophil, Hector,
Oscar and Adolf joined the company in 1868.
Makers of top precision clocks. Operations ceased
in 1929 due to fierce competition and mass production
