Question
I live in Houston and am very interested in a clock my dad brought back from london.  The clock is as described above and will not stay ticking...  I think it needs a tune up.  Also the hand that hold the pendulum recently broke where there is a bend holding it onto the post at the top.  I barely trust this clock to anyone as it has so many memories.  I remember it when I was a kid it ringing throughout the house.  Help please.  Where can i send it or have it fixed locally

Answer
Try this on the inter-net.  Goto <local.com>  This will bring you to a page that asks you to identify the service you wish to be rendered and from whence you wish said service to be performed.  In your case you should enter the service required to be, "clock repair" and the location as Houston, Tx.  Upon entering this information you will be provided a list of firms, in your area, that provide clock repair services.  Select a few of these providers and state your needs.  Don't be hesitant to ask questions, after all you don't one a non-qualified person messing with your clock.  The most important question to ask is, where did the prospective provider receive training.  Another thing you might ask is, what professional orginizations do you belong.  i.e., American Watch and Clock Makers Institute, National Association Of Watch and Clock Collector's, The British Horological Society and Etc.  I truely hope you find a really great clock repair person.  Regards WJP
