Question
Hello Mr. Perkins,
I  am very appreciate of this wonderful service. My Austrian Regulator wall clock was fine till I over-wound it raising the weights too high
Is there a way I can undo this
I look forward to hearing from you.
Elizabeth

Answer
Try hanging extra weight to the side that needs to be dropped.  Often times a sock with sand, (rice, poping corn, what have you,) inside is a convenient tie on adapter.  Start the pendulum and remove the excess weight as soon as it has dropped sufficiently to obviate the need.  An alternative would be to start the pendulum and pull the offending weight, down, by hand using maybe about a pound of pull.  I trust the forgoing will solve your problem.  If it does not you best have a local clock repair person examine the clock.  Regards WJP
