Clocks, Watches/Clock not striking correctly

Question
My grandfather clock is striking 2 hours behind each time.  I tried letting it wind all the way down and restarting it, but it is still2 hours behind. Can you help?

Answer
You need to reposition the hour hand.  Assuming, that hand is friction fit to its shaft, you would simply grasp that hand and advance it 2 hours.  If the hour hand is non-friction fit you will have to remove the minute hand by removing the hand nut.  Having done this the retaining nut for the hour hand will be exposed.  Simply remove that nut and the hand, re-locate the hand 2 hours ahead, re-install the hour hand nut, minute hand, and the minute hand nut.  You should be done.  Regards WJP
