Clocks, Watches/Howard miller will not chime

Question
I have a Howard Miller Model 610-355 movement 354180F dial 270248F.  Zeeland MICHIGAN 1984 made in west Germany 02  K  100cm.  We moved this clock to another location and were able to get everything working.  The chimes would work on all three settings.  After a few days it was turned to nighttime silent and now it will not chime at all.  The dial on the left is set to strike and I can see that the hammers are not in the silent position on either dial.  I have not been able to find an answer to this problem.  Thank You

Answer
It sounds like your clock needs fresh lubricants.  I suggest you have it inspected by a local clock repair person.  If indeed my presumption is correct and the lubricants are in need of replacement allowing or making the clock run in such condition can cause very serious damage in a very short time.  Also it is not unlikely that something has slipped out of position and needs a bit of TLC.  Regards WJP
