Clocks, Watches/Grandmother clock weights

Question
Hello~
I was hoping that you could answer a question about the weights on my new ( to me ) clock. It is running beautifully and keeping perfect time, but only the middle and right weights are dropping. The left weight, as you are looking at it, has never lowered. We have had the clock for several months now and it functions really well otherwise. The clock is level and we have the weights hung correctly by weight...what step/ steps have we missed? It was purchased at an antique store with no instructions and I have done my best with online directions. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Qari

Answer
left powers the hour strike---5 bongs for 5 o'clock, etc.

something is stuck

look in the left side of the mechanism to see if something is preventing the 4 head hammer assembly from moving and hitting the 4 strike rods.

try pulling a bit on the left weight to make it slightly heavier to jump start the strike.

try rotating the gears on that side manually to get them moving

could need oiling or some pro service.
