Question
I recently purchased a Pearl Grandfather Clock from a thrift store for $35.00 dollars. I have no idea whether it works or not. The lady said she had someone come in to wind it but it was already wound. the weights were removed when it was brought in and she put them back on in the wrong place. the pendulum is also missing. In my research I have found that it takes a 114cm pendulum but was wondering if the ones that are a wooden stick with a bob would work to start out. Also what should the weight of the bob be? I would like to make sure the movements are working before I spend a whole lot of money on a pretty pendulum! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Attached is a picture of the plate which reads:

Answerexcellent info-thanks clock was made in 1982
excellent price also!
heaviest weight goes on the right as you face the clock and the next heaviest in the center (2 might be the same)
any pendulum will do to try it - weight of the bob is not important either for a run test- a piece of wire with any weight on the bottom will do to test. But I would jump in and buy a real one since you paid so little for the clock.
this is probably the one you will need:
