Question
I have a large round (2 ft diameter) wall clock that never keeps the correct time. Seems that the mechanism (young town quartz 12888) isn't powerful enough to run it. Can you recommend a high torque comparable model that I can switch it out with?

Hi Roger,
There are two things to consider here: The hand mounting configuration and the shaft length.
If your minute hand is held on with a small nut you can use your hands with our high torque movements.
You should take the hands off and remove the movement from the clock. Measure the length of the threaded mounting part of the shaft. It is the first part sticking out of the front of the movement. It should be 5/16" in diameter and probably about 5/16" long, although the length may be different.
