Question
I have a Hamilton 340-020 mantel clock.
I wanted to know if i can adjust the chime on it for every hr or only at 12:00. right now it goes off every 15 minutes. also what are the adjustment holes for I have three. i know the one in the middle is for winding. there is one on the left and right of middle.
Thank you
Dave

Answer
Hi Dave,
Unless you have a silent lever(normally protruding to the right side of the dial, then the clock will chime on the quarters and strike on the hour.
The three winding arbors are for the chiming, going and strike trains.
It is always best to wind all three trains as failure to do so could cause the chiming to seize.
I hope this has been helpful.
Regards
Paul
