Clocks, Watches/Quartz movement 2112

I ordered a Quartz movement 2112 with chimes I put it in my clock and now I can't get the hands to match the chimes at quarter after the hour it chimes the hour and the hands will only go on a certain way is there any way to adjust? I have tried backing it up 15 mins and forward but I can't make it match. I would appreciate anything you could tell me. Thank you very much!  Deb

Hi Debra,

Congratulations on installing your quartz movement. I'm proud of you.
Getting the hands to chime exactly on the hour takes patience.
You have to wait for the clock to chime. Moving the hands manually
the clock only chimes and strikes on the hour. Move the hands clockwise to
get to the next hour when doing this. Don't go backwards on quartz chiming movements.

I put the minute hands about 2 minutes before the hour then wait.
When the clock starts chiming you hold the hand set knob on the back
of the movement ~firmly~ so it doesn't move. Then move the minute hand to
the numeral 12. You will feel resistance but push against that resistance.
Then move the hands to 2 or 3 minutes before the next hour and wait until
it starts to chime. Then do it again if you have to. Sometimes it takes a few
times to get the hand exactly on the 12 when it chimes.

If you still have trouble let me know and we can try to get this right for you.

Hope this helps,
The Clocklady

This is for advice only. ~Most~ repairs need a professional. If I can help you with an adjustment that can set your clock back in order I will try. I can not write a chapter on clock repair. I will point you in the right direction and you will have to do your own research on how clocks work for more intense repairs. -No Watches -No Appraisals. Search ebay for past sales for that information.
