Question My Mom recently passed and I inherited this clock...
It is in good shape for it's age.
Can you tell me how to properly wind the Clock? (Number of turns...What the left and right and top holes signify?)
The clock is running six minutes fast can I make an adjustment to correct the time? Also the chimes do not correspond with the correct hour..How can I match the correct time?
Any idea what the clock is worth I(I would never sell it)
Thanks in advance,
John
Answer John: Can you tell me how to properly wind the Clock? (Number of turns(WIND IT FULLY TO THE END EACH SIDE ONCE A WEEEK --LEFT WINDS THE STRIKE AND RIGHT KEEPS THE CLOCK TICKING...What the left and right and top holes signify?)
The clock is running six minutes fast can I make an adjustment to correct the time?LOWER THE SWINGING WEIGHT INSIDE A BIT AND TEST AGAIN- IF THIS CLOCK HAS NO NUT TO ADJUST THE PENDULUM BOB- THEN THE ADJUSTMENT IS THRU THE DIAL WITH THE SMALL END OF THE KEY - IF IT HAS A DOUBLE END KEY
Also the chimes do not correspond with the correct hour..How can I match the correct time? THE CLOCK WILL ALWAYS STRIKE ONE MORE THAN IT DID PREVIOUSLY _ SO YOU CAN PREDICT WHAT IT WILL BE DOING AND WHILE IT IS STRIKING-RUN THE MINUITE HAND AROUND CLOCKWISE TO THE HOUR YOU KNOW IT IS DOING- THEN SET THE CORRECT TIME - WAITING FOR IT TO STRIKE EACH HOUR AS YOU GO TO THE CORRECT TIME.
Any idea what the clock is worth I(I would never sell it)I DO NOT KNOW THIS MODEL BUT PROBABLY $250 or less
