Question
The two weights on the outside have stopped working and only the weight in the middle goes up and down- can I fix this myself?
the one on the right as you face the clock powers the 1/4 chimes and the left the hour strike-- and they are not working. Why? old age? --switch maybe by the #3 is on "silent"? heaviest weight is not on the right? Try pulling a bit on the right weight as you move the minute hand around slowly clockwise to see if the chimes will start. How old is the clock? Hermle German movements start failing in the chimes at 20+ years old. You need a pro if none of the above help.
