Question
This battery operated chie clock originally had a very fine wire from the battery to the movement. It was broken, and I need to know what gauge and metal the wire should be to replace it. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Michael,
The wire gauge is not critical in this application. You will mainly need a fine, stranded wire that you can work easily with. My guess is that the original wire was probably around 24 or 28 gauge. If you take apart a section of modular telephone wire (the wire from the phone to the outlet, not the heavier wire that is installed along or in the walls) and use a single wire from that, it will probably work fine.
