Question
Hi Kenneth,

I have a Pearl Grandfather clock with an 1151-020H movement (chain driven, three chime).  I have messed up the escape wheel in tinkering with it.  Is there a source for said part and if not, can I replace the movement with any 1151 movement?

  Thanks,
         Kyle

Answer
it is not a 1151-020H it must be a 1151-050H  A -030 has the 8 chime hammers on the right side of the movement -- the 050 has 12 hammers 4-8 on the middle back of the movement. The 050 comes in three pendulum lengths 85-94-114mm long and is marked on the back plate and to replace you need to get the identical length as you have to re-use the old pendulum. Not sure of a source for the escape wheel alone if you are not a professional. There would be 6 possible escape wheels - 3 based on the pendulum length then two designs "autobeat" and "deadbeat" you need to know which you need and to replace you will have to take the movement completly apart. If you are ready to do this - then let me know - other wise - what did you DO to the escape wheel and what tinkering were you doing??? and why?

ebay has the movements:
