Question
I have aquiried a hermle clock which i have got working
Details on thr works are Germany  80 141-071 and has a white enamel face. On the pendulum there are the letters  R A in what i would describe as old english textwith a line in between.  Are these letters of any significance?

Hi Robert,
    These markings are an aid in regulating the clock by turning the nut at the bottom of the pendulum disk.
    They mean "Retard" and "Avance" in French, and equate to "slow" and "fast". You turn the regulating nut in the "R" (slow) direction to make the clock run slower, and vice versa.
