Question
Hi,
The pendelum movement does not work.  Since it is quartz, can it be repair or do i have to replace the whole quartz movement?  The batteries are new and i don't think there is a switch to turn it on.

Answer
As stated in my resume, I do not do quartz.  However, in this instance I will make an exception.  Normally Quartz movements are considered throw aways.  The reason being, the cost for service far exceeds the value of the movement.  You did not mention whether or not the time keeping function is operating.  If it is I would suggest you make sure the plastic pendulum hanger is seated properly and that the magnet that causes pendulum movement has no foreign substance on it.  If the time keeping function is not working, make sure the battery is fresh and the terminals clean.  Often time even new batteries are far from fresh.  Since your clock was obviously functioned before, the first thing I would suspect is the battery.  If the battery indeed tests fresh, replace the movement and have done with it.  Lots of luck.
