Question
Hi there,  I have been searching the internet for the last few days,  Also, had my dad go to the book store to see if he can find any info on this and didn't find this watch in any of the books.  I picked up a very nice Illinois pocket watch from an auction, and am trying to find out more information about it.  How rare is it?  The following is on the movement piece.  19 jewels,  double roller, adjusted 3 positions,  Admiral , Illinois Watch Co, Springfield and the serial number #4693268 dating it to 1924-1925.  I am not sure of the size,  but I would guess it to be a 12.  It is silver in color and I would say "octagon" in shape.  It has a very unique second hand dial, like a half circle.  Anyway,  any info you can get me would be appreciated.

Thanks,
paula

Answer
Ms. Paula,

I am sorry to say that I won't be able to add any information to that of what you already know about it.

Illinois made top quality watches through out their history.
The most popular sizes are 18 and 16.  There were fewer watches made of other sizes but I wouldn't say they are rare.  Just not as abundant.
Sorry.  If I find something of special note relating to the Admiral, I will be sure to forward it to you.

Kind regards,

Melvin
