Question
I Have just bought a new Hermle movement for a mantle clock, and have failed to accurately regulate it, and feel i should send it back and replace it with another. It cost me over £100, what do you think.

Answer
You should expect a new movement to have been properly regulated at the factory as such you should not have to make but minor adjustments to accommodate the movements new environment.  A new movement in it's new environment almost always requires minor adjustments.  If minor adjustments do not cut the mustard then it surely should be returned.  Please do not hesitate calling upon me, should you need further assistance.  Regards WJP
