Question
I inherited a Hermle 451-050 movement grandfather clock. How do you attach the pendulum and metal attachment bar to the clock and does the heaviest weight go on the center chain?  Thank you, Nick

Answer
Hi Nick,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
The heavy weight goes on the right as you're looking at the clock.
From top to bottom: The horizontal post at the top back of the movement attaches to the suspension spring (flat spring with two leaves) by a screw or taper pin. The pendulum leader hooks over the pin at the bottom of the suspension spring. There is a slot in the pendulum leader. The crutch post(vertical brass strip coming out of the movement and ending in a horizontal post) must go through the slot in the pendulum leader. The pendulum hooks onto the pin at the bottom of the leader.
