Question
My Grandfather clock (Trend), after a move to a new house will not restart.  All of the weights are pulled to the top.  Can you give me come ideas on getting it restarted??
Thanks, Ricky

Answer
Hi Ricky,
Restarting a clock after a move often requires the services of a professional clock repairer.
First, level the clock. Then start the pendulum with as wide a swing as possible. If your clock has auto beat setting, this will put the pendulum in beat.  If it does not have auto beat setting, setting the beat will have to be done manually. This process requires some expertise to do properly. There may be sites on the web with beat-setting instructions; you could try searching. If you have a clock repairer do a service call, he can also check that the pendulum assembly is connected properly, lubricate the clock, and make other adjustments.
