Clocks, Watches/Ridgeway Grandfather Clock
Expert: Kenneth Saunders - 5/10/2007
QuestionI bought a brand new Ridgeway Grandfather Clock about 2 years ago. But it
has recently stopped functioning properly. The clock would stop running after
a few days, sometimes within a day or a week. I had made sure that the clock
is on a leveled horizontal hardwood floor. I can't image it would be a
cleaning/maintainence problem since it's only 2 years old, although I could
be wrong. The local agent also came over and pushed a stick behind the clock
into a vibrating mode and said that it was suppose to vibrating the whole
time. But a few days later, it stopped again, he cannot find the problem why it
is behaving like that. So, if you could please help me and give me some
pointers, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
AnswerLucy; you say"The local agent also came over and pushed a stick behind the clock

NEVER in 33 years have I heard of such a thing with a GF clock. The clock is under warrantee - MAKE the agent fix it or obtain a replacement movement from HM-- all at N/C to you! HM is good about supporting their clocks- do not take no for an answer from the agent. Go direct to HM if all fails with the incompetent agent!
