Question
Melvin...I have in my possession a Rolex Prince watch with "Official controlment Offices...Rating of watches" certification dated 1930. I cannot find any information from any associated web sites for the watch number given which might help me with its providence and history. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Answer
The number on the certificate is the movement number, the case number is usually on the small certificate often attached at the top of the large certificate.

Also, the reference number for the prince is usually stamped on the back of the watch.

Kind regards,

Melvin
