Question
We have a Smith drop dial clock and it has been running perfectly both time and chime.  Recently (after it's weekly wind) it has now started chiming the hours on the half hour and vice versa (chimed 12 times at 12:30).  Any suggestions on how to correct this please.

Answer
Take off the minute hand nut, then remove the hand from the minute hand tube, replace the hand in a position where it will be 30 minutes ahead of where it had been.  Replace the hand screw.  stop the clock for 30 minutes, then set it in motion,  That should do it for you.  Regards WJP
