Clocks, Watches/Wall clocks not working after move

Question
While on holidays in Holland last summer I bought two 2nd hand Hanging Wall clocks. I detached the weights and pendulums before packing them for shipment. After reassembling them neither will work. Is there something wrong with the way I have hung them on the wall, or is there some adjustment I need to make?

Answer
Hi Gerard,
There are a couple possible reasons why your clocks are not running.
First, the pendulum must be attached correctly. Please see my previous answers for information on pendulum connections.
Next, make sure that the weight chains are not jammed, and the weights pull up normally.
The most likely cause of the clocks not running is that the pendulum may be out of beat. Check the clock with a level to make sure that it is perfectly level on the wall, both front to back and side to side. Then check the beat of the clock by listening to the tick sound, and adjust the leveling as needed to put it in beat. I give detailed instructions on checking and adjusting the beat for wall clocks in my previous answers.
