Question
Hi, I am looking for a source for the small brass washers that go on the hands of a grandfather clock (100+ years old) to help keep the hands tight. I have two on there now but I'm thinking I neen another one or two. The washers are "dished" and go just below the pin that holds the hands in place. Cany you suggest a source for these? Thanks Les

Answer
Hi Les,
Hand washers are available in assortments of square hole, round hole, brass and steel from clock supply houses like Timesavers, Merritts Antiques or Empire Clock. It would probably be a good idea to also get an assortment of taper pins, because they often get broken or lost when reattaching the minute hand.
