Clocks, Watches/Won't Stay Running

Question
I have a 1950's hermle mantel clock and it will not stay running,it will keep time for an hour or so and then stop. Any advise you have will be greatly appreciated. I have used this site a couple of times..and just want to thank you guys are great!

Sherry; 56 years is a long time - time to replace the movement! Make sure the tick and tock are even- prop up one side and then the other to get an even sound and try it -- if that doesn't work- replace the movement or forget it --the part # is on the back of the rear brass plate ---advise
