Question
Just bought a wall clock with key winder and pendulum. I dont care for the chime unfortunately. The sound is not great. Is it possible to muffle the sound somewhat so it is more quiet?

Many clocks have a chime shutoff lever, usually near the "3" on the dial.
To muffle the chime without turning it off altogether, try wrapping a couple turns of old-fashioned cloth medical adhesive tape around the chime hammers.
