Question
grandfather clock chimes play segments of Board is Spread (a grace). What is the musical transcription and what note would follow? The chiming on the hour ? Thank you, E.Lipowitz

Answer
I have never heard a clock playing a chime called that unless it has another name also. Sounds like a 4 note sequence:BOARD IS SPREAD

(two part round)
is here, the board is spread,
Thanks be to God who gives us bread.

most gf clocks do chiming on the quarter hours and on the hour followed by a counting of the hour.
