QuestionQUESTION: We have a Hermle 451-050 with 94 cm / 66.0 pendulum.
The top of the pendulum leader has a flat brass bend over to form a hook with a keyway in the center. The movement also has a flat brass piece coming down and bent to be horizontal with a similar keyway and a slot on the side.
We can't hang the pendulum with what we now have. Is there another part that is missing??
Thank you very much for any help.
ANSWER: Not sure what you have but the Hermle pendulum top looks like this:

And the Leaders look like this old style and newer style:

advise how these compare with what you have?

QUESTION: That is the pendulum top, and the right end 15891.jpg looks close to the part that comes out of the movement. Our part has a slot on the side but I can't figure out how to re-hang the pendulum. Do you have a picture that shows the pendulum hanging on the leader? We may have lost a part.
Many thanks,
Paul
Answerthe double hook end of the leader is the upper part and needs to be attached to the suspension spring hanging off the brass post off the back brass plate of the mechanism. the left hand end with the simple pin thru it is the end to hang the top of the pendulum onto. The leader is upside down and not attached properly.-The pendulum assembly begins at the top with a 1" two legged suspension spring pinned to a brass post sticking out of the back of the rear movement plate.
Next a silver(probably) suspension leader about 5" long that hooks onto the bottom of the suspension spring and passes through the "foot" shaped forked brass piece (and must be in the center of the fork slot and not be rubbing front or back) that connects into the inside of the movement.
Lastly the top of the pendulum hooks onto the bottom of this suspension leader
Figure #2 in this PDF shows the back of a movement and the bottom has a different end on it. advise...
