Clocks, Watches/hands on clock fall backward

Question
when i set the time, the hands meet resistance when i set them forward. they also fall back because they do not " hold" the correct time. can you help in solving this problem?

Answer
I believe your problem is in the motion works of your clocks motor, (movement).  This is the train of wheels of a clock or watch, etc., directly connected with the hour and minute hands.  It is located under the dial and mounted to the outside of the frontplate.  To correct the problem you will need access to the motion works.  Examine this area vary carefully.  I suspect you will find a pin and/or holding washer is missing or not secured tight enough.  Another good possibility is a bent gear or one with a tooth or more missing.  I hope this helps you.  WJP
