Question
i have just fitted a new quartz movement,on this clock, the time works, the pendulum works, but the chime is out of sink,i;e hour strikes 1/2, 15min strikes 3/4,30min strikes 1hr,45min strikes 1/4, the hour is out example,11.30 strikes 9,4.30 strikes 2,is it a fault or can this be adjusted anyway ? thank you for any help.

Answer
Hi Gary,
This is a simple setup problem and can be easily corrected.  Wait until the clock strikes any hour (from your description, the hand will be at the :30 position). Remove both hands. Put the hour hand back on pointing to the number of hours the clock just struck. Put the minute hand back on pointing to the "12", ie., the hour strike position. Your problem should be solved.
The minute hand on this movement can go on in two positions, up or down. You just had it on 180 degrees from the correct position, so the clock was striking the hour at the half. The hour hand is a friction fit, and can be put on pointing to any hour you want. In putting on the hour hand, you count the number of hours the clock actually strikes, then put the hand on to synchronize with that time.
  Thanks for your question.  Martin
