Question
We have clock as above,it has pendulum but no weights visible. it has suddenly started to chime very slowly even though the spring is wound, it will still keep good time and the chime spring runs down but even when fully wound it is painfully slow. can you help please

Answer
Hi Gill,
The two common causes of slow chiming are needing lubrication and wear in the bearings of the movement.
A professional clock repairer can both lubricate the movement and tell you if the movement is worn and needs further repair or replacement.
