Question
While i was on vacation, no one wound my grandfather clock. When I returned, I reset the time, but now the chimes ring 1 extra time each hour. For example, at 2o'clock, my clock rings 3 times. Help!!!

Answer
You need to move the hour hand forward 1 hour.  The hour hand is friction fit, all you need do, is, to grasp it as close to the hour shaft as possible and simply turn the hand forward.  While doing this, hold the minute hand stable with your other hand.  When you have done this your clock should be in strike sequence, but an hour wrong in showing time.  To correct simply stop the clock for 1 hour and you are done.  Regards WJP
