Questionwe just bought clock that was purchased in Bavaria from an old church in the 70's At that time it was thought to be 70some years old.Former owners have not run it for 10years The pendulum was removed for transport also weights(3) now we can't attach the pendulum.Any suggestions how it goes on We did not take it off ourselves and are afraid to force where it looks like it should go thank you so much Joanne
AnswerIf the clock has not run for ten years it is certainly in need of a good cleaning and adjustments. I reccomend you have that done. Whom ever you select to do this job would attend to the pendulum hanging and show you how to do it yourself. If you wish instructions from me as to how to hang the pendulum it would be most helpful if you could send me a digital picture of the back of the clocks movement. This would allow me to see what need be done and to provide instruction. From your description I would presume that your clocks pendulum mechenism consists of a pendulum rating system, a pendulum bob, a pundulum staff, a pendulum leader, a pendulum crutch, a pendulum spring and a pendulum hanger. The presence of all these elements or some of them dictates the hanging procedure.
There is no question about my being able to define how to do this, but I need to see in my minds eye what is present.
