Question
hi william,i wonder if you can help only i have a seth thomas wall clock which used to run accurately but recently has been gaining 30 mins plus a day,i have wound the pendulum down as far as poss no change at all and even opened the pendulum and added lead as it was half full could you possibly help thanks gary

Answer
I thing your clock needs cleaning.  One thing in your description bothers me, "-----even opened the pendulum and added lead----".  Having loose lead in a pendulum is an absolute no-no!  With every swing of the pendulum the center of gravity will change, it would be impossible to regulate.  Regards WJP
