Question
Hi.My wife has owned a Ridgeway grandfather clock for a while.Over the course of moving it several times and restarting it, the time is incorrect. She said it has to be set by a professional. Can I set the time myself? I found that the 3 weights that hang down have to be in the correct place and corrected that. Then I heard it chime 4 times while the clock says 7.
I'd love to correct if you can tell me how.
Thanks for any help you can offer.  Allen

Answer
ALL clock owners should take the responsibility for setting and time adjusting their clock(s).  Using you own example, i.e., the clock strike 4 but the hour hand says 7.  Most hour hands are moveable.  You should be able to "move" the hour hand to what ever hour the clock has struck.  In this instance back to 4.  This done you simply reset your clock to 7 in the usual manner.  I.e., turning the minute hand clock wise, allowing the chime strike to complete at each quarter before proceeding.  This should do you, regards WJP
