Question
Westminster movement I think. Would like to know if there is an instruction booklet available. Need to know how to properly set - especially setting chimes

Thank you

Answer
Hi Sam,
As far as I know, Welby hasn't been around for a long time. I don't think there's any chance of getting an instruction manual.
You set your clock by turning the minute hand either forward of backward. If you turn it forward, you need to stop at each chime point and let it chime before moving ahead. If the clock has a chime/silent lever (usually on the dial near the "3"), you can turn it to silent, and you will not have to stop turning at the chime points.
There is nothing in particular to set regarding the chimes. If the clock strikes the wrong number of hours, turn the HOUR hand ONLY to whatever number the clock has just struck. Then reset the time in the usual way with the minute hand.
    Thanks for your question.   Martin
