i recently bought a clock that says welby on the face. and in the back of the clock it says that it was made for seth thomas. i was just wondering the relationship and AROUND the time it may be from. i saw Welby clocks on ebay for ten to twenty dollars. and i was just wondering if i got a total run around from the dealer. any information would be much appreciated. thank you, in advance, for your time

On the back of the clock- you mean the back brass plate of the mechanism? what were the rest of the markings? should have a date, etc. perhaps in code. No connection between ST and Welby I know of- not sure what the dealer told you that you think was wrong? advise more info so I can help better.
