We are currently running COBOL on DRS 3000. Recently we have purchased Sun Server ( Sunfire V440 and V890), we are thinking of shifting our COBOL applications into these servers.
1: Is it possible?
2: How is it done (software, knowhow requirements etc.)
Thanks in advance

Julius
Answer I am not sure what a DRS 3000 is, but COBOL is portable as long as it does not make extensive use of vendor specific extensions.
SUN servers are best used with Microfocus COBOL. It works great. I have done this for about 10 years. Microfocus supports the full 2002 Standard COBOL and just about any flavor of vendor variation.
If you have any specific questions, let me know. Is DRS 3000 related to the HP 3000?
