Question
Birdman (Cockatiel) is breathing really fast.  It seem she is fine; she still act the
same way.  Just the chest is popping in and out really fast.  I'm worried!!

Answer
Paul,

First, I'm sorry that it took me so long to answer your question.  I had a series of family issues which took me away from the computer for a while.

Second, I hope your cockatiel is no longer breathing this way.  A cockatiel's respiratory system is very sensitive.  Of course, it could be that Birdman has been flapping his wings or exercising in some other way.  Do you hear any wheezing or whistling?  Are the wings drooping?  If so, you may need to take her to the avian vet.

Good luck,

Cindy
