Hello, I woke up this morning to find a soft shelled egg on the floor next to my cockatiels cage.  She's already sitting on a clutch of 5 eggs that she started laying about 7-10 days ago.  She has been laying 3-4 clutches a year for the last 3 years and I'm concerned because I've never seen a soft shelled egg from her.  She has cuttle bone, mineral block, a good fortified seed and hard boiled egg in her diet.  Should I be worried about this and if so, what would you recommend?

hi are you bredeer? may be your bird is breeding for a long and need to stop.( for me, i i had  pair of pet cockatiels i woulnd mae the layed a clutch for m1 time thane make the young lay  1 clutch ana so on, buy i would either sell the rest to give them away and keep anbout 4). for you are give your bird a cuttle bone and minneral block ensure that it is using it to it maximun or buy liquild calcium to be added to their deit which you should be able to get at the pet sore mae sure it is mad for them. the diet you are feeding is ok but make sure you feed the a variet(fruits,vegetable,peelets,fgains,seed,treat(safe)and the culltebone and mineral block. but if she i peckin at the mineral block and this occur soft shell laying occur its very unusal so i would say take it to your vet. may be the bird need additional viatins supplement including vitamin d3 to maximize the absorsbtion of calcium.Rebember to tell me if you are a breeder?
